Death, oh sweet death
I welcome you with open arms
I do not fear you like others do
But enjoy your noble embrace
I fear not death
Only of living in vain
Have I not left my mark in the world?
But who will read and understand that mark when I’m gone
I fear not death
For there is an equality after death
Not like the equal now
But the sameness that someday will come
I fear not death
There is a beauty to be found in death
The leaves that fall in autumn die in such a way
I fear not death
Only not doing what is right
I try so hard and it seems so easy
Then why so many mistakes over a life
Death, oh sweet death
Come and take your prize of me
I will not fight you like so many others
The victory belongs to me
For seeing my lord Jesus
Comes out of what others call death
