With your words and deeds
You have inflicted
My heart with a pain
Which will not leave
In all the world
You were the one
That was suppose to love me,
Without condition, without fail
I have searched over the years
Wondering why you have treated me
Worse than any stranger
Instead of one of your own
Since you forsook me
For your own petty desires
Where else was I to turn
To fill the need of my soul
In all my attempts
To rid myself of this pain
I have created a wound
Far greater then the one you gave me.
I have hated you so long
For what you have done to me
That there is nothing left
But the anger in my thoughts
As I turn to ask you why
I see clearly that your selfish desire
Was to quite the pain in your own heart,
To find the love you never had.
It has not taken away the pain
But it has rid me of the anger
For you are not an enemy
But a kindred in the pain.
I pray to God now
That He may fill the hole in your heart
With the love you never felt
As He has done for me.
