Fivi Danino
Fivi is the seat of the Danino family, the rulers of the empire, and that is really all the city is. It controls the northern Aurhyer Bay. The Danino family maintains they control of the empire because they keep a large military fleet, which is paid for with the taxes the empire brings in. They also have the support of the Admiralty of Weiter Rach.
Fiva Donino control the northern Authyer Bay
Fonti
Fonti was founded to build trade ships, expanded to warships during the Bedlam of Freedom, and has added luxury ships since then.
Guarve
Starting off as a satellite town controlled by the Domino family, it has grown large enough that it considered its own center of power. It continues in their original purpose, to grow food to feed Fivi Domino
Lorino
The city-state of Lorino was a special case when it joined the Duran Empire as it was originally a colony of the Lenta Federation. It was founded by the Federation to ease trade with the Duran city states. Over time, the Lenta of Lorino would become more Duran in culture. By the time the Lenta Federation would disappear during the Bedlam of Freedom, Lorino was unofficially already a Duran city-state. Its charter changing over the years to reflect this. It would not officially become part of the Duran Empire until the first great pleague swept across the land.
Lormonie
Lormonie started off as a means to exploit a loophole in the taxes. When Lorino first joined the empire they were given special tax status and goods shipped from the south were not taxed, only those items which would then ‘pass through the straits between the lighthouses of the southern straits’. So some trading companies started offloading at lorino and moving their product overland and reloading at the Sutrica Bay. It would not be long before trading companies from Monia laid claim to land on the bay to start exploiting the loophole. By the time that the Danino Family caught on and changed the law, the city of Lormonie had become a permanent settlement. It is now a town with its own trading compines.
Monia
While Fivi Danino is the capital of the empire, Monia is the capital of its trade. It represents little poltical threat to the Donino family or Welter Rach as Monia has no clear leader. The Monish clan maintains order within the city and acts as arbitrator (and if need be enforcer) in contract disputes. But there is literally hundreds of rich trading families which drive the politics of the city.
Monish Bay: while the Monish harbor started out simply as piers by the city, then grew into a fortified harbor it has long since grown to encompass almost the entirety of the Monish bay. Nearly all of bay acts as a harbor now.
Mother’s Arms
The Ceatha sea has massive storms which can destroy entire cities, or more often prevent the permanent settlement of some areas. The Duran city-states would be one such area except the mountain range in the north east called Mother’s Arm acts as a buffering wall. While the storms are still felt, they become heavy showers instead of instead of wind driven rains that wash away trees, houses and people alike. The Storms are fearce enough that Mother’s Arms is little more than baron rocks.
Okecklosta
About the time that the first Great Plague was winding down, a maelstrom formed in the center of the Duran Empire’s waters.
Romburgh Cove
There was a push to create an independent trading center in Rombuge but the towns of the area were more suited for leisure than work. There are several resorts in the area.
Soutish Strait
While the south straits have no name, the northern one is known as the Soutish (or safety) Strait. It is better known and remembered by sailors for two reasons. The first is that it is narrow, requiring an experienced pilot to navigate them. And the second is that sailors feel considerable relieve upon seeing the lighthouses of the strait. The Ceatha Sea is far more dangerous the part of the Nethist ocean the Duran’s deal with. Between sea creatures and pirates, those who sail the sea live knowing that each trip may be their last. And seeing the Soutish Strait marks the successful end of another tour.
Though few know it, the middle lighthouse of the strait is a lighthouse of Tusernter though at some point it was remodeled.
Weiter Rach
Weiter Rach is the name of both the naval officer corpse of the empire and a large island which houses their Admiralty. The island is a fortress with a armored harbor which was originally founded as a defensive position protecting the Aethyer Bay against the Gillip Empire. It was taken over as a home for the Admiralty when the Gillip Empire proved to be, though large, incapable of waging a war that would reach the bay. It has expanded since then, taking over most of the island.
